What’s Hot and What’s Not – 2015 Makeup Retail Trends

Looking to do a little makeup retail therapy? Synonymous with breathing, most women will agree that the best type of retail therapy is makeup therapy. A hobby for some, a career for many and an obsession for others – women just cannot resist collecting makeup in different colours, shades and tones. In fact, makeup retail therapy has been known to boost serotonin levels – sounds like the perfect excuse to get a little happy!

The makeup industry worldwide is one that is constantly evolving and is growing faster than just about any other industry. With all of the new innovative treatments, groundbreaking makeup products, techniques, and pioneering advancements constantly improving and evolving, the beauty industry has never been more successful than it is today.

Besides retail therapy, it is a known fact that self-improvement is by far the highest form of therapy and is also the nature of youthful good looks. As long as people have a desire and a need to improve their physical, mental and emotional selves, the beauty industry will always keep on thriving and transforming – it is a multi-billion Dollar industry, and it is only just getting started!  If you have a passion for makeup, then you will want to keep up with all of the latest trends, so below we take a look at what’s trending for 2015.

·         Gorgeous Perfect Plum Eye Shadow and Lipstick – recently on the runways, the internationally renowned Vera Wang and Lucia Pieroni combined styles to flaunt a very grunge and mystical wood nymph look by splashing romantic rich dreamy plum shades of eye shadow and lipstick over the eyelids and lips of models. Already, the makeup retail industry has seen plum shades of burgundy, violet and deep plum flying off the shelves. (MUD colours: vineyard, concord and newly released velvetine)

·         Winged Eyeliner – one of the favourite 2015 trends is retro-inspired winged eyeliner. Introduced by Cleopatra, the “cat eye” is possibly one of the most classic beauty trends in history. At the recent runways, Cavalli set this trend back into motion once again, by giving his models a tough edge with black winged eyeliner applied to the top and bottom of the eyes, and now women throughout the globe are rushing to exercise their feline look too!

·         Natural Lightly Bronzed Skin – the season of plastering layers of foundation and powder on the face are over. The new trend is a clean, just-washed-my-face look, which means cleansers, toners, moisturisers and SPFs throughout the world have just shot up in sales. If you have natural freckles that you have being hiding for years, then now is the time to flaunt them, because freckles are back!
